The first fiction film he wrote and directed, La vida era eso, premiered at the 33rdTokyo International Film Festival and in the Official Selection of the 17thSeville European Film Festival (ASECAN Award for Best Film and Best Actress Award to Petra Martínez). The film also won awards at the International Film Festivals of Liverpool (Best Film and Best Director), Marseille (Audience Award, Young Jury Award and Best Actress to Petra Martínez),Transylvania (Best Actress, again, to Petra Martínez) and at the Mediterranean Film Festival of Alexandria (Best Debut Film and Best Actress).
